Our Commitment to GDPR

At Honglow Technologies Limited, we are committed to ensuring that all our products and services comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union and the UK GDPR. This page outlines our approach to GDPR compliance and how we protect your personal data.

What is GDPR?

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union and the European Economic Area. It also addresses the export of personal data outside the EU and EEA areas.

The UK GDPR is the UK's implementation of the GDPR, which continues to apply following the UK's exit from the European Union.

Our GDPR Compliance Measures

We have implemented the following measures to ensure GDPR compliance:

1. Privacy by Design

We have adopted a 'Privacy by Design' approach to product development. This means that privacy considerations are built into our products and services from the very beginning of the design process.

Our offline applications are specifically designed to keep your data on your device, minimizing data collection and processing.

2. Lawful Basis for Processing

We only process personal data when we have a lawful basis to do so, such as:

  • With your consent
  • To fulfill a contract with you
  • To comply with a legal obligation
  • For our legitimate interests, provided they don't override your rights

3. Data Subject Rights

We respect and uphold your rights under the GDPR, including:

  • Right to access your personal data
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
  • Right to restrict processing
  • Right to data portability
  • Right to object to processing
  • Rights related to automated decision making and profiling

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at honglow7@gmail.com.

4. Data Protection Impact Assessments

We conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) when implementing new technologies or where processing is likely to result in a high risk to the rights and freedoms of individuals.

5. Data Breach Notification

We have procedures in place to detect, report, and investigate personal data breaches. In the event of a breach that poses a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours and, where appropriate, inform affected individuals without undue delay.

6. International Data Transfers

If we transfer personal data outside the EU/EEA or UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

7. Data Protection Officer

While not legally required for our organization at this time, we have designated a point of contact for data protection matters. For any GDPR-related inquiries, please contact us at honglow7@gmail.com.

Our Offline Applications and GDPR

Our offline applications are designed with privacy as a priority:

  • Data is stored locally on your device
  • Personal information is not transmitted to our servers
  • You maintain control over your data at all times
  • Data processing occurs on your device, not on our servers

This approach significantly reduces GDPR concerns as we do not collect or process your personal data through these applications.

GDPR and Our AI Tools

For our AI-powered online tools:

  • We clearly inform you about what data is collected and how it's used
  • We only retain your data for as long as necessary to provide the service
  • We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data
  • We do not use your data for purposes other than those specified without your consent
